As I child, when people asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, my standard answer was: "I want to do what my Daddy does." 

Of course, I also wanted to be a garbage woman. Fortunately for me, I quickly tired of walking around the house with a wastepaper basket on my shoulder, grew up, went off to college, and...

...am now doing what my Daddy does.  These days, I work with both my parents in the family public relations business, Van Orden Communications (VOCOMM), as well as on my own, doing various freelance public relations and writing assignments.

"Global Writer"

Simply put, I'm a travel writer with a twist...  my love of writing, traveling and history feed on each other too much to just write your basic travelogues. And while I write articles and commentaries about the places I visit, my real passion is to delve deep into the history behind those places - especially the people - and write historical travel articles, historical non-fiction and historical fiction stories on the people and places that capture my imagination. To learn more about my personal writing, click here or on the “Global Writer”  link on the nav bar at left.
