In the Norman countryside, tiny villages and towns like Beavron en Auge still maintain the architecture
and industry that they did during medieval times. Timbered cottages with
thatched roofs still preside over
small holdings of crops, livestock, and a thriving industry of cheese and
cider-making.
The Chateau des Riffets is an 18th Century chateau, now a charming hotel,
set pleasantly in the Norman countryside and surrounded by acres of woodland.
Someday, when I can afford it, I will stay in the beautiful hotel situated in this medieval village,
built literally into the cliff and overlooking the Mediterranean. Until then, I will consign myself (small sacrifice)
to merely enjoying the charming shops and the beautiful view from the hotel balcony.
Monaco is exactly what I had always dreamed it to be.
I think I could live happily the rest of my life from the balcony of this beautiful villa located in Monaco's "Old Village."
And, if you think the building is beautiful, imagine the view!
Literally translated, French village on the sea. Just as beautiful, I think, as Monaco, but much less expensive!
